Briar has a gentle, kind and friendly manner which immediately made me trust her. Her knowledge and the on-going support I have received from her has been amazing.
-Helen
Briar listened to what I said and tailored her treatment to meet my individual needs, rather than just give a generic one. I like firm treatments and to really feel the therapist working on me. Briar delivered! But equally, when I felt like I needed a more gentle, soothing approach, she was spot on. I still go to Briar on an odd hoc basis…when I’m feeling twinges in my back…or if I just feel like indulging and treating myself!
-Jessie
Briar is a smart and skilled osteopath who approaches health holistically and she really listens, taking time to get to the heart of the issues. Apart from her hands-on therapy, Briar also advised on a number of lifestyle and ergonomic changes and prescribed some exercises that seem to keep everything at bay between treatments. She takes her craft seriously and you just know she really cares and can help – you feel it through her hands, you sense it during the treatments and you come away feeling empowered, having been given tools to remain mobile and pain-free! I was seeing various therapists often weekly before I met Briar. Now all I need is a top up three or four times a year.
-Claudia
Briar has a breadth of experience and knowledge that enables her to bring a flexible and nuanced approach to every person that she treats. In addition to her excellent manipulation skills, I benefited from her understanding of Pilates, strength and resistance training to help me to help myself.
-Lewis
Briar is a superb osteopath who takes a fully rounded, caring, non- judgmental and holistic approach to her work. Briar gives the best treatment and I always leave a session with her feeling positive and with a smile on my face!
-Kate
Briar has a light but skilled touch, she has permanently corrected my SI joint which I had suffered with for years, often unable to put my socks on properly when having a bad month. I haven’t had trouble with it for at least 3 years now and it has made such a difference to my quality of life.
-Harvey
Briar has always been willing to offer valuable lifestyle advice to keep fit including her renowned ‘stick diagrams’ to explain how to do the exercises she recommends. She also kindly referred me to a Podiatrist who was able to specify bespoke inserts into my footwear which resolved a recurring and growing problem with a painful knee; thankfully this has worked a treat alongside Briar’s maintenance work on my knee from time to time as required. I strongly recommend Briar’s wonderful treatment.
-Sam
What I really value about Briar is that not only does she have a depth of knowledge in Osteopathy and years of experience, she also has training and knowledge in many things which complement her holistic approach, including her love of the outdoors and physical activities, which makes for a fully rounded therapeutic approach. I would highly recommend her.
-Johnny
Thank you Briar for sorting my back and shoulder problems out after 3 visits to your practice and for the exercises you have shown me. Very professional and I would recommend you to anyone with back and shoulder problems. Many thanks, again.
-Gary
I first went to see Briar with chronic neck and arm pain and headaches as a result of painting at an easel. She worked on the physical problems and quickly relieved the pain. She also gave me exercises to do at home and recommended lifestyle changes. I am now on a maintenance programme and see her every three months. I am now pleased to say I’m completely headache and pain free!
-Sharon
Briar has really been amazing with my back problem. I had a longstanding, persistent stiffness and tension in my back. She treated me with just a few sessions and it was sufficient to get rid of it, for good! She made me believe in osteopathy, which I hadn’t heard much about before the treatments. A true professional with a great gentle touch and attitude. I definitely recommend her.
-Rocky
I am a keen cyclist and have been troubled with lower back pain especially during long rides, Briar checked me out and instantly realised my pelvis was misaligned. She advised I sleep on my side, and prescribed a set of exercises which I do religiously everyday. I can now cycle trouble free and even spend most of my time riding comfortably in the drops. I would highly recommend Briar to my fellow cyclists.

Briar is a hugely skilled practitioner who originally worked her magic on a shoulder injury for me years ago. I now see Briar every couple of months to help maintain good flexibility, working on any areas that may have tightened up from over use! Her treatments are very relaxing, gently working to release areas and improve my range of movement. I also find the exercises we go through at the end of my treatment incredibly useful and really easy incorporate into my routine. Thank you Briar for keeping me right!
-Sarah
I have been going to Briar for a few years for treatment as and when I have needed it. Her skills and knowledge is understated and I completely trust her careful diagnosis and treatment plans, never feeling pressured to have follow ups and always being encouraged to make gentle changes in my daily life to improve overall health.
-Didi
Briar was very thorough and professional and I felt really listened too about my concerns. She offered excellent advice and really explained what was going on in my body. I found Briar to be both caring and helpful in equal measure. Highly recommend.

I’ve had the huge benefit of receiving osteopathy treatment from Briar Harvie over the last 9 years. I cannot praise her professional approach to treatment highly enough. Suffering regular bouts of muscle tightness in the shoulder, neck and sometimes lower back there’s nothing more reassuring than booking an appointment with Briar and knowing the pain and discomfort will soon be gone, as it always is, thanks to her amazing manipulation techniques and caring work.
-Roger
I have seen Briar regularly at various intervals over the past 5 years as she has helped me manage a lower back complaint. Briar’s treatments are not only effective but she advises on the root cause of a problem. Amongst other things this has: led me to take up regular Pilates to strengthen my core and ditch gym classes that were aggravating my symptoms; develop a greater interest in nutrition/fermentation/naturopathy and I have sought out other professional health experts when needed (e.g podiatrist) who she has signposted me to.
-Kate
Would definitely recommend Briar as an osteopath – I had a couple of sessions in the past which were very helpful including a last minute one due to an acute back issue and a wedding to attend the same day!
-Arnaud
I’ve been a back sufferer off and on for many years. The last episode (specific cause unknown) left me in pain and restricted movement. I’ve tried various treatments in the past, none completely successful. Recommended to Briar, she was extremely thorough in ascertaining history and then applying physical treatment (nothing painful). She also recommended a series of exercises (none too onerous) and I have since been able to manage the symptoms and stay pain free.
-Andy
Briar has treated my back a number of times and is a wonderful osteopath – very intuitive and sensitive to your needs. Besides that, she is also very knowledgeable, funny and kind – highly recommend!
-Charl
I have had the pleasure of being treated by Briar on many occasions. The benefits have always been immediate and deeply healing. When I suffered from Bell’s Palsy I went to see Briar and found her intuitive holistic approach particularly effective, feeling relief, not only physically but emotionally also. I would recommend Briar to anyone seeking support with conditions of any kind.

I’m a theatre maker, spending half of my time bound to my desk and half of my time in high energy and adrenaline fuelled environments. Unsurprisingly I’m prone to back problems and am often on the lookout for a good physical therapist. Briar Harvie was a real find. She is friendly, kind and professional.

I had a trampoline accident when I was young, nearly breaking my neck. As a result of this I have had an intermittent searing pain in my neck on and off for years. As an active sportswoman this was very frustrating and I couldn’t find a successful therapy to manage my pain. I then discovered osteopathy, a practice that treats the injury but is also concerned with the whole body. I met Briar and after an initial appointment I would see her once a week then I progressed to once a month. I have now got to the stage where I only need a maintenance visit once every three months. I am forever grateful, thank you Briar.

So, I am a passionate kayaker. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to some incredible parts on the globe and paddle some amazing rivers. A couple of years ago, I damaged my back in a kayak mishap. I was in a lot of pain and unable to get on the water. Having been to see a number of therapists unsuccessfully, someone recommend Briar Harvie to me. She was absolutely brilliant! Within a couple of sessions after working on my back, I felt comfortable enough to get in to a boat again. A few more sessions later and I was back to my old self. I can’t recommend Briar enough!
-Emma
My work is very desk-based and I often spend 10 or more hours sitting each day. I had been suffering from neck and back pain for years and had spent much of that time seeking out the type of care I found when I met Briar five years ago. My bank balance is healthier for finding Briar, but most importantly I am healthier and I can’t recommend her more highly.
